Re: Online Reputation

In searching the internet for your name, I found an incredible amount of information. I learned that your full name is Tyler Leonard Newbold your birthday is Dec. 6, 1986 and you were born in Salt Lake City, Utah. According to your biography on utahstateaggies.com you are 6'4 and you weigh 210 pounds. You are one of three children of Kelly and Lynette Newbold, both of your parents graduated from Utah State. Your dad was a member of Utah State's track team in the early 1980s and still ranks fifth all-time in the outdoor high jump with a mark of 6'11.50".

You graduated from Payson High School in 2005 where you were a member of the honor roll for all four years. You were the point guard for the Payson High Basketball team and also played on their Baseball team. You are currently attending Utah State University where you are double majoring in Journalism and Marketing and you are the guard on the Aggie Basketball team. Your number is 24.
You are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. You returned from a two-year mission in San Bernardino, Calif. in August, 2007.

If you google search "Tyler Newbold" you can find all sorts of news articles about yourself. Like these:
LDS Church News Article
Deseret News Article
The Herald Journal has 255 articles about or featuring you. Herald Journal Articles

I also found your blog, usubasketball.blogspot.com,

And a youtube search of your name brings up 19 different videos.

ESPN has 56 search results for your name. Among these is a page with all your basketball stats.

From all these articles, videos, and web pages as well as your personal facebook page, I learned that you are diabetic, you attend classes at the LDS institute of religion, and you are recently engaged to a fellow Aggie named Jennie Easton. I checked out all the pictures from that event here.

Searching your name on facebook results with your personal facebook page as well as a less than supportive group page titled "Tyler Newbold should stick to Intramural Sports". Seeing as that page has only 17 fans, and on your personal facebook page you have 969 friends, I don't think you have anything to worry about. :)

Another thing I found on facebook was this picture posted by your sister, Kristen Newbold. with the caption "Yes...he is a division 1 athlete Yes...he put the birthday jewelry on himself."

I would say you are very well represented on the internet. Were I looking to hire you, I would be highly impressed by your school and sports involvement as well as your down-to-earth personality that shows through your facebook profile. Congrats on the engagement, Tyler!
